Malaysian Cultural Extravaganza Held in Pakistan’s Islamabad

ISLAMABAD: The Ladies Group of the Malaysian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, in Islamabad (PERWAKILAN) on Thursday hosted a Malaysian Cultural Extravaganza under the High Commission of the country.

Members of the Islamabad Foreign Women Association (IFWA), spouses of the Heads of Mission, friends of Malaysia, and members of the media were present on the occasion.

Sarawak dancers enthrall audience

The Sarawak Arts Council dancers enthralled the audience through a series of dances at the event. In addition, PERWAKILAN ladies also performed Rasa Sayang, Joget Melayu and Poco Poco dances. The audience enjoyed the dances.

High Commissioner Ambassador Azhar Mazlan gave Certificate of Appreciation to the dancers from Sarawak Arts Council.

He thanked them for their skillful performance and for having flown from Kuching, capital of state of Sarawak, Malaysia to Islamabad.

Ambassador Azhar praised PERWAKILAN Islamabad for organizing the event. He viewed such an event is important to promote peaceful co-existence through cultural diplomacy where cultural understanding among countries is important. The event was a success in highlighting the rich culture, cuisine, and tradition of Malaysia.
