Malaysian PM Attends Wedding Ceremony of Sungai Petani MP

SUNGAI PETANI:  Malaysian Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim has attended the wedding ceremony of Sungai Petani Member of Parliament Dr. Mohammed Taufiq Johari, local media reported on Saturday.

Dr. Mohammed Taufiq, 28, the sixth child of Dewan Rakyat Speaker Tan Sri Johari Abdul, tied the knot with Dr. Fathiya Ainul Mardhiyah Andri Nopendra, 26, hailing from Indonesia.

The Prime Minister arrived at the Sungai Petani Municipal Council Hall at noon, where he was warmly welcomed by Johari and his wife, Puan Sri Noraini Mohd. Afterward, he took part in the festivities, interacting with the attendees and capturing moments with the newlyweds and their families.

Among the distinguished guests were several cabinet ministers, including Home Minister Datuk Seri Saifuddin Nasution Ismail and Domestic Trade and Cost of Living Minister Datuk Armizan Mohd Ali. The Prime Minister departed the ceremony at 1 pm, with plans to attend two events in Penang later in the day: a visit to Seberang Jaya Hospital and the Seberang Perai Tengah district police headquarters.
