Manchester Police Assault Two Pakistanis Brutally at Airport

MANCHESTER: British police officers at Manchester Airport brutally tortured two Pakistani young men in front of family members as video of the incident went viral.

The mother of one of the Pakistani tried to stop the violence but the policeman kept hitting him. It can be seen in the video, the police officers repeatedly punching and kicking the young men.

According to the police five officers involved in the incident have been suspended and an investigation is underway against the seven officers.

According to the Greater Manchester Police (GMP), the incident occurred at Terminal 2 of the Manchester Airport. “Whilst attempting to arrest one of the suspects of the earlier altercation, three officers were subject to a violent assault, where they were punched to the ground. A female officer suffered a broken nose and all three were taken to hospital for treatment,” the police said in a statement.

It said that as the officers there had firearms so there was a clear risk of their firearms being taken from them. The police said four men were arrested at the scene for assault and affray on emergency service workers.

Police said it acknowledged the concerns of the conduct within the video, and the Professional Standards Directorate is assessing this.
