MANIPUR: The Central and state forces have established a total of 110 checkpoints across various hill and valley districts, along with conducting search operations in vulnerable and fringe areas of Imphal West, Kakching, Kangpokpi, and Churachandpur districts in the past 24 hours.

According to a press release issued by the police control room, the security forces have actively undertaken measures to enhance law and order during this period. Notably, 185 individuals have been apprehended for violating curfew regulations in different districts of the state.

Emphasizing the smooth movement of essential commodities along NH-37, the release highlighted that 300 loaded vehicles departed from Jiribam to Imphal, while 356 loaded vehicles left Noney for Imphal on Monday.

While acknowledging the tense atmosphere prevailing in certain areas, the situation has remained largely under control with minimal untoward incidents occurring in the past 24 hours. However, normalcy has been restored in most districts.

Both state and Central forces continue to engage in regular patrolling, flag marches, and cordon and search operations in vulnerable areas within both hill and valley districts.

The release further appealed to the general public to extend their cooperation in restoring normalcy in the state. Additionally, it urged individuals to promptly report any rumors by contacting the rumor-free hotline number – 9233522822 – of the Central Control Room. Furthermore, the public was urged to immediately return and surrender any firearms, ammunition, or explosives to the police or security forces.
