NEW YORK: At the 2024 Critics Choice Awards, Margot Robbie made a heartwarming statement about her husband, Tom Ackerley. The actress, known for her role in “Barbie,” attended the event with Ackerley by her side.
While on the red carpet, Robbie shared her feelings about Ackerley with E! News, saying, “I am so lucky.” She expressed gratitude for being married to someone outside of Hollywood, emphasizing Ackerley’s comfort behind the camera and lack of concern about the glitz and glamour of the industry.
“He’s just the best,” Robbie declared, adding, “It’s so fun. I love the word ‘normie.’ Yes, like all my friends, everyone’s like, ‘That’s cool what you do, but it’s more fun just to hang out and talk about other stuff.'”
Margot Robbie’s Disclosed Initial Disbelief About Marrying Ackerley
In a previous interview with Vogue, Robbie disclosed her initial disbelief about marrying Ackerley. Reflecting on the time before their marriage, she revealed, “I was always in love with him, but I thought, ‘Oh, he would never love me back. Don’t make it weird, Margot. Don’t be stupid and tell him that you like him.'”
However, the unexpected happened, and she realized, “Of course, we’re together. This makes so much sense, the way nothing has ever made sense before.”
Robbie and Ackerley tied the knot in December 2016 after the actress admitted Ackerley was her longtime crush.
