Masood Khan Presents Credentials to Jamaica’s Governor General as Non-Resident Envoy

NEW YORK: Masood Khan, Pakistan’s Ambassador to the United States has presented his credentials to Sir Patrick Linton Allen, the Governor General of Jamaica and officially assumed his role as a non-resident Ambassador to the Caribbean nation. He presented these credentials during his visit to Kingston from March 11 to 13.

According to APP, during this ceremonial event, Ambassador Khan conveyed the warm regards of Pakistan’s President and Prime Minister to Governor General Allen, expressing Pakistan’s eagerness to fortify its relations with Jamaica across various sectors.

In response, Governor General Allen extended congratulations to Ambassador Khan on his new role and expressed his commitment to strengthening bilateral ties between the two countries. On March 12, Ambassador Khan met with Senator Kamina Johnson Smith, Jamaica’s Minister of Foreign Affairs & Foreign Trade, presenting his letter of credence and discussing various bilateral matters. He reiterated his dedication to enhance ties between Pakistan and Jamaica.

Ambassador Khan emphasized the urgency of finalizing the Framework Agreement on Cooperation between Pakistan and Jamaica during the visit.

Pakistan’s Ambassador expressed gratitude to Jamaica for its role in reviving international cricket in Pakistan. He also engaged with the Pakistani diaspora in Kingston during an event hosted by community leader Tariq Malik.

Ambassador Khan also attended the budget speech delivered by Nigel Clarke, Jamaica’s Minister of Finance and Public Service, and participated in a reception hosted by the foreign minister in honor of newly accredited Ambassadors.
