CALIFORNIA, USA: Five people were killed Wednesday night in a shooting at a biker bar in Orange County, California.

Six other people were in hospital after the former law enforcement officer opened fire at the people, the media reports said.

There were more victims, the Orange County Sheriff said in a post on social media platform X, formerly known as Twitter. The sheriff’s office did not provide any more details and didn’t immediately respond to requests for comment by the media.

A report said the shooting happened at a biker bar called Cook’s Corner in Trabuco Canyon and there was now a large law-enforcement presence. The suspect was killed after being shot by security personnel responding to the situation, Police said.

The injured were rushed to a nearby hospital for treatment. A total of 11 people, including the suspect, were subjected to gunfire, while law-enforcement deputies remained unhurt. According to CBS News, a domestic dispute triggered the gunfire involving a retired law-enforcement officer and his wife.

The Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) and Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF) are investigating the incident.
