Mauritius Wants to Extend Cooperation in Diverse Fields with Pakistan

ISLAMABAD: High Commissioner of Mauritius in Pakistan Rashidally Soobadar has said that based on knowledge economy, his nation had very good economic progress indicators. He expressed these remarks in an event organized in connection with Mauritius’s Independence Day.

Rashidally Soobadar stated that economic and diplomatic ties between Mauritius and Pakistan are growing with each passing day. He stated that Pakistan is providing educational facilities, including scholarships to Mauritius’s students.

The Ambassador said that Mauritius was basically a welfare state, with public health, education, and housing among its priorities. The ambassador said that his country focused on education, adding “We improved the country’s economy by giving special focus to human resources capital” and now our nation had a very stable position in world economic rankings.Mauritius

He added that Mauritius spent around 6 percent of its gross domestic product (GDP) on education sector. It was ranked 23rd among 190 nations in terms of ‘ease of doing business’ and 56th for security and peace. High Commissioner Soobadar stated that with becoming independent in 1968, his nation had a history of 56 years of freedom and peace.

He stated that 95 percent of the Mauritius citizens lived in their own homes as the government completely supported them for the purpose.

Speaking on the event, Mushahid Hussain Sayed stated that Mauritius is significant nation in the African region which had a journey of progress and development. He stated that Africa had significant role in international economy and politics. Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz’s (PML-N) MNA Tariq Fazal Chaudhry also attended the event and said that the 56-year journey of Mauritius following independence was a journey of progress and development, surpassing many issues and challenges. He said that economic and trade ties between Pakistan and Mauritius are increasing day by day.
