ISLAMABAD: Renowned Pakistani actress Mawra Hocane has tied the knot with her long-rumoured companion and co-star, Ameer Gilani, in a private ceremony that took social media by storm on Wednesday.
The wedding announcement, made through Hocane’s Instagram post, has quickly become one of the most talked-about celebrity events of the year.
For years, speculation about the duo’s relationship has been rife, fuelled by their on-screen chemistry in the popular television dramas Neem (2023) and Sabaat (2020). However, both actors consistently dismissed romance rumours, maintaining that they were nothing more than close friends.
The first hints of their wedding surfaced on Tuesday night when whispers began circulating on social media. By Wednesday evening, Hocane confirmed the news by sharing a captivating wedding portrait of the couple at Lahore Fort.
Her Instagram caption, “And in the middle of chaos… I found you,” accompanied by the date and the hashtag #MawraAmeerHoGayi, sealed the long-standing speculations.

Hocane stunned in a sky-blue lehenga adorned with intricate gold embroidery and subtle pink accents, complemented by a matching blouse. Her outfit, with its delicate detailing and vibrant border, exuded elegance and tradition.
Meanwhile, Gilani opted for a classic charcoal-coloured shalwar kameez, paired with a matching buttoned waistcoat and a soft woollen shawl, rounding off his look with traditional tan Peshawari chappals.
The wedding pictures, shared online, immediately garnered an outpouring of love from fans and fellow celebrities.
Hocane’s sister, actress Urwa Hocane, and her brother-in-law, singer and actor Farhan Saeed, were among the first to extend their heartfelt congratulations to the couple.
