ISLAMABAD: A new Netflix show, The Duchess of Sussex, has been postponed till March as a result of the Los Angeles wildfires, the streaming giant has announced.
The postponed series was filmed in southern California, according to BBC.
Netflix said it offered its “full support” to Meghan’s request to delay the show.
Netflix described, in a statement, the upcoming programme as a “heartfelt tribute to the beauty of Southern California”, saying that it was moving the premiere of With Love, Meghan over the “ongoing devastation” inflicted by the fires.
“I’m thankful to my partners at Netflix for supporting me in delaying the launch, as we focus on the needs of those impacted by the wildfires in my home state of California,” the duchess said.
The show will now air on 4 March, according to the streaming platform.
With Love, Meghan comprises eight 30-minute episodes. It features appearances from stars such as actress Mindy Kaling and former Suits celebrity Abigail Spencer.
Hugging people
In the wake of the worst wildfires, on Friday, Prince Harry and Meghan were seen hugging people in the devastated area of Pasadena.
“In the last few days, wildfires in Southern California have raged through neighbourhoods and devastated families, homes, schools, medical care centres, and so much more – affecting tens of thousands from all walks of life. A state of emergency has been issued,” the pair wrote on their website Thursday.
