SRINAGAR: People’s Democratic Party chief Mehbooba Mufti has strongly criticized the BJP-led Indian government for its atrocities committed against the people of Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK) since August 2019.
Talking to media, Mehbooba Mufti stressed on the necessity of expressing dissent against the Narendra Modi government’s actions since August 5, 2019, which are aimed at disempowering Kashmiris. She said that people wanted to give a message to the government in New Delhi that the atrocities committed since 2019 are no longer acceptable and they will answer to it via vote.

She underlined the plight of thousands of Kashmiri youths incarcerated outside occupied Jammu and Kashmir, whose parents struggle to navigate the legal system. She termed the ongoing Indian parliamentary polls in IIOJK as a crucial opportunity to amplify the voice of the territory’s people in the parliament.
