SRINAGAR, Occupied Kashmir: Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) President, Mehbooba Mufti, has reaffirmed the party’s unwavering commitment to championing the rights, dignity, and identity of the people in Indian illegally-occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK).

Speaking at a party convention in Kupwara, Mufti urged party members and supporters to remain united in the face of significant challenges posed in this ongoing struggle.

Mufti expressed optimism about the outcome of the 2024 elections, expressing hope for improved results for opposition parties. This sentiment follows recent elections where the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) appeared poised for victories in three out of four states that went to polls.

As per trends issued by the Election Commission, the BJP was leading in Madhya Pradesh with 155 out of 230 seats, in Chhattisgarh with 54 out of 90 seats, and in Rajasthan with 111 out of 199 seats. Despite these political developments, Mufti refrained from commenting on the delay in elections in Jammu and Kashmir, emphasizing that her visit to Kupwara was focused on addressing the immediate concerns of the people. The political landscape remains dynamic, and the PDP remains committed to navigating the challenges and advocating for the rights of the people in the region.
