ISLAMABAD: Adverse weather conditions are forecast across the country till February 10, as per Pakistan Meteorological Department (Met).
As of early February 8, the Pakistan Meteorological Department issued a warning for heavy rainfall, strong winds, thunderstorms, and snowfall over mountainous areas in the country’s northern, central, and western regions in the coming days.
Weather in next 24 hours
Dry and cold weather is expected in most plain areas of the country. However, Cloudy weather with chances of rain with snowfall is over the hills is expected at isolated places in Gilgit-Baltistan, north Balochistan, and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa as per Pakistan Meteorological Department (Met).
Snowfall
The department has warned that moderate-to-heavy snowfall could cause transportation disruptions due to road closures in parts of northern Pakistan. On unstable slopes, landslides are also possible. As weather conditions change in the coming days, authorities will most likely issue new alerts or update/rescind current advisories.
Air quality
The air quality in Lahore is 185 US AQI; in Bahawalpur, it is 152, 160 in Muridke, 161 in Mangla, and 156 in Rawalpindi, 167 in Faisalabad. In Sindh, the air quality in Karachi is 152 US AQI, while Islamabad’s air quality stands at 153. In Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP), the air quality in Peshawar is 63, while 97 in Abbottabad.

According to the Pakistan Meteorological Department (MET), a maximum of 7 degrees Celsius (°C) temperature was recorded in Islamabad, 11°C in Lahore, 18°C in Karachi, , 8°C in Peshawar, and 3°C in Gilgit.
Minimum recorded temperatures
Today’s Recorded Lowest Minimum Temperature’s (°C): Leh -10, Kalam -09, Gupis -05, Parachinar and Astore -04.
