Met Office Issues Flash Flood Warning for Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Balochistan, and Northern Punjab

ISLAMABAD: The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) has issued a weather warning predicting flash floods in local streams and rivers across Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP), Balochistan, and northern Punjab.

The PMD has urged to exercise extreme caution and take all necessary steps as the looming threat of flash floods, landslides, road closures, and electricity outages is expected.

In a statement the PMD forecast risk of flash floods through Balochistan, especially in Mastung, Lasbella, Kalat, Sibbi, Kohu, Barkhan,  Awaran, and Khuzdar. Similarly, risk of flooding is high across Khyber Pakhtunkhwa while in Punjab, areas such as DG Khan and the picturesque hill station of Murree also face flooding.

Roads across northern Punjab and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa are at risk of closure due to heavy rain and snowfall, stretching from Mansehra, Haveli, Galiyat, Naran, Abbottabad, and Kaghan to Dir, Shangla, Astore, Swat, Hunza, and Skardu.
