ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) has predicted mainly dry and cold weather for most plain areas of the country during the next 24 hours. However, rain-thunderstorm with snowfall on the mountains is expected in upper Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Kashmir and Gilgit Baltistan region.
According to details a westerly wave was affecting the upper parts of the country and was likely to prevail over the upper parts during the next few days.
Rain in last 24 hours
During the last 24 hours, rain with snowfall over hills occurred at scattered parts in upper Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Gilgit Baltistan, Kashmir, Islamabad and some areas of Punjab. Cold weather prevailed elsewhere in the country.
Meanwhile the rainfall recorded in Rawalakot as 07mm in Ghari Dupatta 02, (Kashmir) in Saidu Sharif 04, Kalam 01, Murree 04, Attock 03, Islamabad 02, while in Faisalabad, Khanewal, Okara and Toba Tek Singh as 01mm.
The snowfall recorded was Malam Jabba received as 06 inches of snowfall with 01 inch in Murree.
The lowest temperatures recorded during the said period Leh -14 C, Ziarat -11, Kalam, Astore 09, Malam Jabba, Skardu 06, Gupis -08, Hunza -07, Kalat -05, Quetta, Bagrote -04 and Murree -03 C.
