ISLAMABAD: Babar Azam’s future as captain of Pakistan’s cricket team will be decided by the selection committee and Mickey Arthur, the national team director, according to PCB Management Committee Chairman Najam Sethi.
While speaking in an interview, Sethi stated that Babar is a “wonderful player,” but his future as captain is up to the team management.
Sethi also mentioned that there have been discussions in the media about having different captains for different formats, but it is too early to make such decisions.
Sethi said that he consulted with Arthur, who suggested retaining Babar as captain for the upcoming New Zealand series. After the series, Arthur and the selection committee will decide on the captaincy.
