ISLAMABAD/WASHINGTON: Microsoft Corp plans to cut thousands of jobs, and some roles are expected to be removed in human resources and engineering divisions.

According to Reuters, the expected layoffs would be new in the US technology sector, where well-known companies, including Meta Platforms Inc and Amazon.com Inc, have already announced retrenchment exercises in response to slow demand and the worsening international economic outlook.

Microsoft’s move indicates that the technology sector may continue to shed jobs.
