ISLAMABAD: Railways Minister Khawaja Saad Rafique severely criticized the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) violent protesters on Friday who set fire to the Tarnol Railway Station following the arrest of former Prime Minister Imran Khan.

He said, while chairing a high-level meeting at the ministry, that miscreants who were involved in doing damage to government properties would be brought to justice at whatever cost. The minister went on to say that no one will be permitted to cause damage to government installations because the government’s first priority is the security of residents’ lives and property. Saad Rafique directed the officer in charge to investigate the matter and provide a report.
Meanwhile, during another meeting, possibilities for lowering the estimated cost of Main Line-I (ML-I) and the draft of the Public Sector Development Programme (PSDP) for 2023-24 were also discussed. The meeting included a stock of PSDP completed and continuing several projects for the financial year 2022-23.
