ISLAMABAD: Former Pakistani actress and television host Mishi Khan has publicly defended Hijab Khalil, the daughter of renowned writer Khalilur Rehman Qamar, amid a wave of online trolling following the recent leak of explicit videos involving her father.
In a video message posted on her official Instagram account, Mishi Khan expressed her deep concern over the personal attacks directed at Khalilur Rehman Qamar’s family, particularly his daughter.
Khan condemned the trend of involving innocent family members in scandals and emphasized that Hijab Khalil and other family members should not be held responsible for the actions of the public figure.
“Khalilur Rehman Qamar’s family, especially his daughter, has no connection with the incidents that have occurred or may occur in the future,” Khan said in her message. She highlighted the importance of separating an individual’s personal conduct from their family and urged the public to refrain from targeting his daughter with derogatory remarks.
The controversy began when explicit videos involving Khalilur Rehman Qamar surfaced online, reportedly linked to a “honey trapping” scheme. The leaked footage led to intense criticism, with many social media users directing their ire towards Hijab Khalil, Qamar’s daughter, on her Instagram profile.
Mishi Khan criticized the negative comments and online trolling aimed at Hijab Khalil, describing the behavior as shameful and unjust. She stressed that Khalilur Rehman Qamar, as an adult and public figure, should be held accountable for his own actions, not his family.
The backlash against Hijab Khalil has been particularly harsh, with users questioning her about her father’s behavior and leaving disparaging comments on her social media posts.
