KARACHI: The weather in the city and suburbs turned cold after several parts of it received light to moderate rain Saturday night.
According to the meteorological department, rain was reported in parts of Karachi, turning the weather cold. The city’s temperature dropped to 23 degrees centigrade at midnight with humidity at 44%.
The weather is likely to be cloudy and more rain is expected in several areas of the metropolis during the upcoming 24 hours. The parts of Karachi which received rain include Landhi, Saddar, Nazimabad, Site Area, Old City area, Baldia, Sohrab Goth, Shah Faisal, Korangi, Malir and Gulshan-e-Iqbal.
On Saturday, the port town of Gwadar and surrounding areas also received winter rainfall. Turbat and Kech districts of Balochistan also received sporadic heavy rainfall amid a Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) forecast of downpour in western and southwestern Balochistan.
The Met Office has forecast cold and cloudy weather for most parts of the country with chances of rain/thunderstorm in Balochistan. The met office has predicted rain with thunderstorms in Nokkundi, Chaghi, Washuk, Kharan, Panjgur, Kech, Turbat, Dalbandin, Kalat, Khuzdar, Noshki, Pasni, Makran, Lasbela, Gwadar and Jiwani districts in Balochistan.
