Modi’s Counter-terrorism Strategy Has Double Standards: COCOMI

NEW DELHI: The Coordinating Committee on Manipur Integrity has strongly criticized Prime Minister Narendra Modi for his statement on ‘cross-border terrorism’ at the Shanghai Cooperation Organization’s (SCO) recent virtual summit and asserted that it is a blatant contradiction to the political game plan executed by his government for years in Manipur.

COCOMI said in a statement that the Prime Minister Modi talked about cross-border terrorism in his address, but his government has allegedly turned a blind eye to the menace of terrorism carried out by narco-terrorists in manipur.

It also accused Modi regime of providing logistic support and supporting illegal terrorists from Myanmar with privileges nearly the same as any Indian citizen. They said that such scheming activities of the central government have boosted the terrorists in forming a permanent narco-terrorist state in India.

They underscored the relentless terror activities carried out by the narco-terrorists in Manipur against innocent civilians, in presence of central security forces. The committee also the Modi government under what understanding it permitted the narco-terrorists to carry out such brutalities against the innocent indigenous Meitei people.

The committee also lambasted at government for allegedly protecting the narco-terrorists in Manipur in encroaching reserve and protected forest areas for poppy cultivation. They said that the counter-terrorism strategy of the Prime Minister Modi has double standards when it comes to dealing with narco-terrorists in Manipur state.
