ISLAMABAD: The Central Ruet-e-Hilal Committee announced on Tuesday that the moon of Jamadi-ul-Awal 1445 AH was not sighted during its meeting at the Ministry of Religious Affairs and Interfaith Harmony.
A notification issued by the ministry stated that the 1st Jamadi-ul-Awal 1445 will begin on Thursday, November 16, 2023.
The announcement came after the Central Ruet-e-Hilal Committee meeting, headed by its chairman Maulana Abdul Khabir Azad, convened in Islamabad.
Meetings were also held in their respective provincial headquarters in Karachi, Lahore, Quetta, and Peshawar. However, the committee did not receive moon sighting reports from any part of the country.
Central and zonal committee members attended the meeting.
