Andy Jassy, Amazon’s Chief Executive Officer (CEO), has announced that more layoffs will happen next year.

The e-commerce giant is yet to decide how many layoffs are expected, leaving the employees uncertain about the future of their jobs.

Amazon CEO Announces Layoffs

Jassy made the announcement in a memo on Thursday. The CEO said that as the company’s annual planning process extends in the new year, there will be more “role reductions.”

In addition, the team leaders would be informed when specifics have been termed down. The firm will also prioritize communicating directly with the impacted employees before going public with the decisions.

Amazon officially started axing employees across its Alexa and cloud gaming divisions after reports emerged that the e-commerce juggernaut planned to let go of 10,000 employees.

Earlier, social media platforms Twitter and Facebook had also announced a workforce reduction.
