More Rain with Snow on Mountains Expected in KP, Northeast Punjab

ISLAMABAD: After the recent spill started on January 20, another spill of rain from Baluchistan has entered into Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Punjab as the Met office has predicted more rain and snow over the mountains in Upper Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Northeastern Punjab, Islamabad, Pothohar region, Kashmir and Gilgit Baltistan during the next 24 hours.

The ongoing cold spill has also brought the temperature down up to 1 to 2 degrees in the cities including the capital Islamabad

Rain, snowfall in last 24 hours

As per reports by the Met Office weather remained cold and dry in most plain areas of the country including the provincial capital during the last 24 hours, however, light rain (with light snow over hills) occurred in different areas in upper Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Kashmir, and Gilgit-Baltistan during the last 24 hours.

In the capital, Islamabad minimum temperature was recorded at 8 degrees centigrade while maximum

18 degrees Celsius was witnessed on Monday. However, cold and dry weather would prevail in the country during the next 24 hours.

In Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, maximum rainfall was recorded in Pattan as 19 while in Parachinar 13mm rainfall was recorded while in Kashmir Muzafarabad received 4 mm of rain during the last 48 hours.

During the next 24 hours light snow is also expected in Murree, Galyat, and other hilly areas in northern Pakistan.
