More than 90 Countries Confirm Participation in Third Belt and Road Forum: China

BEIJING: China’s foreign ministry on Thursday said that representatives from over 90 countries have officially confirmed their attendance at the upcoming third Belt and Road Forum for International Cooperation in Beijing, scheduled for October.

During her regular press briefing held in Beijing, Foreign Ministry Spokesperson Mao Ning stated, “To date, representatives from more than 90 countries have confirmed their participation in the Forum.” She further elaborated, “These attendees include official representatives, such as leaders and ministers from Belt and Road partner nations, as well as individuals from the business sector, think tanks, and civil society who have actively supported and engaged in Belt and Road collaboration.”

Mao Ning also revealed that numerous heads of state and representatives from international organizations have affirmed their presence, expressing optimism that more cooperation partners will confirm their participation in the coming days.

Highlighting the significance of the occasion, she mentioned that the day marked the 10th anniversary of the inception of the Silk Road Economic Belt. In line with this milestone, China is set to host the third Belt and Road Forum for International Cooperation in Beijing this October.

This forthcoming event serves as a culmination of activities commemorating the Belt and Road Initiative’s 10th anniversary, offering a pivotal platform for stakeholders to engage in discussions regarding high-quality Belt and Road cooperation.

It’s worth noting that over 6,000 participants from more than 150 countries and 92 international organizations had participated in the second Belt and Road Forum.
