MOSCOW: Russia has accused the West of destabilizing the G-20 meeting by trying to force through a joint statement on Ukraine that stuck because of disagreements.

Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs said, “We express regret that the activities of the G-20 continue to be destabilized by the West and used in an anti-Moscow… way,”.

Russia accused the US, the EU and the G7 countries of having “disrupted the approval of collective decisions” by trying to impose their “dictate.”

Russia’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs said that their aim had been to implement their explanation of the Ukraine crisis in the joint statement by means of lobbying.

Moscow called on the Western countries to “leave its destructive plan immediately, to admit the objective truths of a multipolar world.” Russia added that the G-20 must remain a financial forum instead of encroaching on the security matter.

G-20 ministers for finance failed on Saturday to issue a joint statement on the world economy at talks in India, after Beijing sought to remove references to conflict in Ukraine.
