Murree Receives First Snowfall of Season

ISLAMABAD: After a year-long wait, Murree and its surrounding areas have finally received the first snowfall of the winter season.

The weather in Murree and nearby regions is predicted to turn cold, with temperatures dropping further following rain and snowfall. The snowfall has added to the natural beauty of the area.

District Emergency Officer Muhammad Arif Khattak has directed all rescue personnel to remain on high alert. Rescue 1122 teams have been mobilized to safeguard tourists and local residents during the snowfall.

Local authorities have advised tourists to exercise caution and ensure their vehicles are equipped with snow chains.

Efforts are being made to keep major roads open, although sudden heavy snowfall may cause temporary disruptions. Tourists have been urged to avoid unnecessary travel on slippery roads. Emergency services are being maintained round the clock to address any urgent needs.

Meanwhile, amid a rise in cold weather, rain has been reported in various parts of Punjab while cloudy weather continues in various parts of the country including Lahore.

The Met office has predicted rain during the next 24 hours. As a result of rain, air quality will improve in the country and there will be a decline in seasonal maladies.
