Muslim World League Chief Arrives in Pakistan, Will Lead Eidul Fitr Prayers at Faisal Mosque

ISLAMABAD: The Secretary-General of the Muslim World League (MWL), Dr. Muhammad Bin Abdul Karim Al-Issa will arrive in Pakistan today (Sunday) for a nine-day official visit. 

According to media reports quoting the Foreign Ministry, Dr. Al-Issa will lead the Eidul Fitr prayers at Faisal Mosque in Islamabad and participate in festivities with orphaned children in Pakistan. Moreover, during his stay in the country, he is expected to lay the foundation stone of the Seerat Museum.

The MWL chief will also engage in a series of high-level meetings with Pakistani officials, including the president, prime minister, chief justice of the Supreme Court, and Minister for religious affairs. These meetings will focus on exchanging views on matters of mutual interest to strengthen diplomatic relations.

Earlier forecasts from the Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) suggest that the Shawwal moon is expected to be sighted in Pakistan on April 9 across the country.

According to the PMD, the birth of the Shawwal moon is anticipated on the night of April 8 at 11:21 pm local time, with the moon’s age ranging between 19 to 20 hours on April 9. The moon is projected to be visible to the naked eye for approximately 50 minutes after sunset, as stated by the weather department.
