ISLAMABAD: Muslims across the world, including Pakistan, are all set to observe Aitkaf starting today, Tuesday, April 11, on the 20th of Ramadan.

Aitkaf is an Islamic practice that involves secluding oneself during the last 10 days of Ramadan in a mosque or at home with the intention of dedicating one’s time solely to the worship of Allah Almighty.

Aitkaf is considered a highly virtuous and rewarding act, and it is a great Sunnah of the Messenger of Allah that every Muslim should strive to perform at least once in their lifetime.

Muslims who observe Aitkaf believe that it helps them to focus on their spiritual journey and to leave behind worldly concerns.

In preparation for Aitkaf, mosques throughout Muslim countries, including Pakistan, have made extensive arrangements to facilitate Muslims who want to perform meditative seclusion.

Special preparations have also been made in homes for those who cannot observe Aitkaf in mosques.

The practice of Aitkaf begins after sunset on the 20th of Ramadan and continues until the sighting of the moon for Eid. In mosques managed by the Auqaf Department, thousands of people will also observe Aitkaf.
