MAKKAH: The Muslim World League (MWL) has denounced an Israeli airstrike on a school in the Al-Zeitoun neighborhood of Gaza, which was sheltering displaced civilians, the Saudi Press Agency (SPA) reported on Saturday.

The bombing also damaged nearby residential blocks, killing 15 people and leaving many others, mostly women and children, wounded or trapped under the rubble.

Secretary-General of the Makkah-based Muslim World League and Chairman of the Association of Muslim Scholars Sheikh Dr. Mohammad bin Abdulkarim Al-Issa in a statement, denounced the attack as part of a series of ongoing crimes targeting civilians and civilian infrastructure. He noted these acts represent clear violations of international and humanitarian laws.

Sheikh Al-Issa called for urgent global action to stop what he described as “massacres” committed by Israeli forces and to put an end to the suffering of innocent civilians.
