WASHINGTON:  The White House has claimed that North Korean leader Kim Jong Un will hold a meeting with President Vladimir Putin in Russia, western media reported on Monday.

National Security Council (NSC) spokeswoman Adrienne Watson in a statement said arms negotiations between Russia and the DPRK are actively advancing.

She said that according to a secret information Kim Jong Un wants these discussions to continue which will also include leader-level diplomatic engagement in Russia.

Russia in secret talks with North Korea

Last week the White House said that Russia was already carrying out secret talks with North Korea to provide ammunition and supplies for Moscow’s war in Ukraine.

NSC spokesman John Kirby earlier said that despite its refusals, North Korea had supplied infantry rockets and missiles to Russia last year.

Watson has said that the United States demands North Korea to stop its arms negotiations with Russia and abide by the public commitments that Pyongyang will not provide or sell arms to Moscow.
