ISLAMABAD: The Speaker of the National Assembly (NA), Raja Pervaiz Ashraf, expressed his sympathies and deep sorrow to Omer Ayub, the Secretary-General (SG) of PTI, on the passing of his father, former Speaker of NA and Foreign Minister, Gohar Ayub.
He said in his condolence message, “The nation is in mourning following the passing of veteran politician and former Foreign Minister and Speaker of the NA Gohar Ayub.”
Raja Pervaiz Ashraf said, “Gohar Ayub, who passed away peacefully after a brief illness, leaves behind a legacy of service, compassion, and positive thinking.”
Leaders in politics, friends, and family expressed their sorrow upon learning of Ayub’s passing. Raja Pervez Ashraf, the Speaker of the NA, expressed his profound grief and sorrow while remembering Ayub’s delicate nature and optimistic viewpoint.
“He was a tactful politician and possessed positive thinking. He has a very kind, loving, and generous personality,” he added.
“Gohar Ayub, as a politician, was a pillar of strength and a man of great integrity. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him,” the Speaker said.
Speaker NA Raja said, “Gohar Ayub’s passing marks the end of an era in Pakistani politics, and his contributions to the nation will not be forgotten.” —APP
