RAWALPINDI: The National Accountability Bureau (NAB) on Tuesday issued summons to four former federal ministers in connection with the National Crime Agency (NCA) £190 million scandal, also known as the Al-Qadir Trust Case.

The anti-corruption watchdog has called in former federal ministers Ali Zaidi, Faisal Vawda, Khalid Maqbool Siddiqui, and Faroogh Naseem for questioning regarding the NCA case. These summonses are scheduled for September 14 and 15.

All four former federal ministers served in former Prime Minister Imran Khan’s cabinet, which approved the decision related to the £190 million settlement.

The NCA £190 million scandal involves an investigation by the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) into Imran Khan, Bushra Bibi, and others. They allegedly benefited from the acquisition of hundreds of acres of land in the name of the Al Qadir University Trust, causing a reported loss of 190 million pounds to the national treasury.

The charges suggest that the former prime minister and other accused individuals allegedly utilized Rs 50 billion (equivalent to 190 million pounds at the time) provided by Britain’s National Crime Agency (NCA) to the government.
