ISLAMABAD: National Counter Terrorism Authority (NACTA) National Coordinator Muhammad Tahir Rai said on Thursday that the authority was actively engaged in developing mechanisms to strategize solutions for the prevailing problem of growing intolerance in the country.

He was addressing the 4-day National Peace Festival held by NACTA in commemoration of the United Nations International Day of Peace (marked 21 September).

The objective of this event was to uphold and strengthen social agreement against extremism and engage social actors in exchanging knowledge and proposing solutions to promote enduring peace in the country.

The National Coordinator NACTA said that global events like epidemics, wars, and climate change have definitely affected billions of people in areas of food and energy while billions are facing hunger. But still, Pakistanis are able to face it bravely by sharing food and happiness with each other.

He said that Pakistan with its cultural diversity exemplified the strength of unity in the face of diversity.  We are working with our partners in other institutions and ministries to give solutions and most importantly engage with youth.
