LJUBLJANA: The Traditional Instruments Orchestra from Nanjing University graced the Music Academy of Ljubljana University with a captivating Chinese classical music performance.
The concert, held at the heart of the Slovenian capital, drew an audience of over 100 attendees, including the esteemed presence of Ambassador Wang Shunqing, representing China in Slovenia.
Under the skilled guidance of Professor Zhang Jingbo, the orchestra presented timeless classics, including the iconic theme song from the film “Dream of the Red Chamber” and the enchanting “All Birds Pay Homage to the Phoenix.”
Slovenia’s Confucius Institute Director, Danijela Voljc, highlighted the universal language of music, emphasizing its ability to transcend borders and cultural barriers, requiring no translation to be deeply appreciated.
Vice President Zhang Junfeng of Nanjing University spoke eloquently of the orchestra’s role as cultural ambassadors, skillfully interpreting the beauty of Chinese music while celebrating the rich tapestry of global cultures. Their performances catalyze mutual understanding and the nurturing of international friendships.
