DUBAI: The ongoing Cannes Film Festival witnessed a star-studded premiere of Martin Scorsese’s highly anticipated film, “Killers of the Flower Moon,” attracting a host of celebrities on the red carpet. Among the standout looks were American actress and singer Sofia Carson in a striking Elie Saab ensemble and supermodel Naomi Campbell, who turned heads in a dramatic red gown while walking arm in arm with Mohammed Al-Turki, the CEO of Saudi Arabia’s Red Sea Film Festival.

Carson took to Instagram to share her excitement, posting a series of pictures of her scarlet Elie Saab gown and a necklace from Italian jewelers Damiani. She expressed her gratitude for wearing the necklace, stating that it had previously been worn by iconic actress Sophia Loren.

Carson revealed that she was named after Loren and her grandmother, emphasizing the powerful influence of women in her life. The Lebanese fashion label Elie Saab also showcased Carson’s regal look, highlighting that the gown was from their Haute Couture Autumn/Winter 2021 collection.

Meanwhile, all eyes were on Naomi Campbell as she walked the red carpet alongside Mohammed Al-Turki. Campbell stunned in a mesmerizing red cut-out gown designed by the prestigious Italian fashion luxury house Valentino.

In a recent Instagram post, she commended Al-Turki’s work with the Red Sea Film Festival, expressing pride in his achievements and acknowledging the festival’s contributions to changing the narrative in the industry.

At the Cannes Film Festival, “Killers of the Flower Moon” received the biggest standing ovation of the year so far, lasting an impressive nine minutes. The three-hour-and-26-minute drama features renowned actors Leonardo DiCaprio, Robert De Niro, and Lily Gladstone, delving into a dark chapter of American history.

Set in 1920s Oklahoma, the film revolves around a series of murders in the Osage Nation, with the newly formed FBI stepping in to investigate and uncover a sinister operation. The star-studded supporting cast includes Brendan Fraser and John Lithgow, with Scorsese himself making a cameo appearance.
