Nation Remembers Kargil War Hero Captain Karnal Sher Khan

ISLAMABAD: The 24th martyrdom anniversary of Captain Karnal Sher Khan Shaheed, Nishan-e-Haider is being observed today (Wednesday).

Commander Peshawar Corps along with Inspector General Frontier Corps (North) and Commander Force Command Northern Areas laid floral wreath at Captain Karnal Sher Khan Shaheed’s mausoleum in his native town Swabi, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Inter-Services Public Relations Pakistan (ISPR) said in a statement.

On the occasion, a smartly turned out contingent of the Pakistan Army presented guard of honour.

People from different walks of life, civil and military officials and relatives of Shuhada (martyrs) attended the wreath laying ceremony.

Captain Karnal Sher Khan embraced martyrdom in the Kargil war on 5 July 1999. For his bravery in the war, he was awarded Nishan-e-Haider, which is Pakistan’s highest military gallantry award
