Nationwide Protests, Rallies Held Following Quran Desecration

QUETTA: Nation across Pakistan expressed grief over and strongly condemned the despicable act of the Holy Quran’s desecration in Sweden.

The Yaum-e-Taqaddus Quran (the day for protecting the Holy Quran’s sanctity) was commemorated to show displeasure over the recent desecration incident in Sweden.

The Muslim Ummah’s red line is the Holy Quran, and its desecration cannot be accepted; demonstrators chanted during rallies held nationwide, including Quetta, Islamabad, Karachi, Lahore, etc., to convey their profound outrage over the serious situation.

They emphasized how the desecration significantly impacted Muslims worldwide and demanded tougher measures to stop future incidents. As the sanctity of the Holy Quran is a fundamental component of our faith, and all Muslims are united in sadness, representatives of all political parties have actively participated in the rallies and protests held at numerous locations around the province.

The demonstrators pleaded with the international community to stop such heinous crimes committed to inciting religious hatred and violence. They argued that to combat Islamophobia, the international community should unite and cooperate to advance peaceful coexistence and interfaith harmony.

The Imams of the Masjid (leaders of Friday prayers) strongly denounced this attack and declared that they would not tolerate anyone abusing the holy Quran. They stated, “It is undoubtedly a provocative Islamophobic hate crime committed in the name of free speech.
