LAHORE: Pakistan Muslim League-N (PML-N) Supremo Muhammad Nawaz Sharif said on Monday that Pakistan would have been in a much better condition if the development process of his government had not been stopped.
Addressing a PML-N parliamentary board meeting in Lahore, he said his government had built motorways and dams, set up power generation plants, and many other projects of public welfare, whereas in Karachi, the clean drinking water project could not be completed, unfortunately.
Nawaz Sharif said that when the PML-N was in power, the world acknowledged that Pakistan would soon become an economic power.
The PML-N supremo said that he did not want inflation in the country but to see a prosperous Pakistan. The PML-N has always abided by the Constitution, and he has not faced any accusation of violating the law.
Nawaz said that his party had tolerated a lot of excesses, and fake cases were also lodged against him. He said the PML-N government had eliminated the scourge of terrorism and established peace in Karachi.
Nawaz Sharif Promises to Build Motorway
After coming into power, PML-N would build a motorway from Karachi to Hyderabad, Nawaz Sharif said, adding that his party built the Lowari Tunnel in Chitral, but votes were given to the Jamaat-e-Islami.
In PML-N’s tenure, petrol and electricity were inexpensive while the value of the rupee was far better than what it is today, he added.
PML-N President and ex-prime minister Shehbaz Sharif, Chief Organizer Maryam Nawaz, and other leaders were also present.
