ISLAMABAD: The National Electric Power Regulatory Authority (NEPRA) Monday ruled out the proposed amendment in the NEPRA Alternative and Renewable Distribution Generation and Net Metering Regulation 2015.
The authority had asked for the public and stakeholders’ opinions while conducting a public hearing on the matter.
NEPRA scrutinizes suggestions
It thoroughly scrutinized the suggestions and the government’s vision for the inclusion of cheap and renewable energy in the system.
NEPRA said, in a statement, that the net metering consumers would continue to sell extra electricity to the DISCOs at Rs19.32 per unit. “The decision will promote net metering in the country,” it added.
