SEOUL: The netizens have taken to social media to criticise the popular American video streaming platform Netflix for the use of AI while promoting one of their upcoming series.

After unveiling the poster for the Korean series Chef & My Fridge or Please Take Care of My Refrigerator, fans noticed the issue.

This is not the first time that Netflix has received criticism for their use of AI for promotional content.

Earlier in November, they removed a poster of the hit animated series Arcane after it was noted that the image had been using AI.

From the world of the game League of Legends, the series has been praised globally for its futuristic art.

The brand lead for Riot Games expressed his displeasure on social media, stating it was “disrespectful to the incredible artists who worked on the show.”

Fans have pointed out that the poster for Chef & My Fridge seems to be fully AI generated. The series originally aired from 2014 to 2019, featuring famed guests and chefs. The upcoming season is set to premiere on Netflix on January 12.

According to netizens some details like the handles of the fridge, uneven wall tiles, random item placement and are arousing suspicion. Despite the controversy, Netflix has not yet responded to the criticism.
