ISLAMABAD: New Zealand has climbed to fourth place in the ICC Men’s T20I rankings following a dominant 4-1 series victory over Pakistan.
The Black Caps showcased their strength by winning four of the five matches, securing the series despite Pakistan’s record-breaking chase in the third game.
With this victory, New Zealand has accumulated 14,367 points and a rating of 248, edging past both the West Indies and South Africa, who are tied at 247.
In contrast, Pakistan experienced a slight dip, with their rating falling from 236 to 235. They remain in seventh place, yet their margin over Sri Lanka (232) and Bangladesh (229) has narrowed, albeit just a whisker.
At the pinnacle of the rankings, India holds a solid rating of 269, followed by Australia at 259 and England at 254.
It’s important to note that these rankings will not influence the qualification process for the 2026 Men’s T20 World Cup. Twelve teams, including hosts India and Sri Lanka, have already secured their spots, while the remaining contenders will emerge from four qualifying tournaments.
