Next General Elections Likely in April or May 2023: Sheikh Rasheed

ISLAMABAD: Chairman Awami Muslim League (AML) Sheikh Rasheed Ahmed on Friday said that the next general elections in the country would be held either in April or in May next year.

While addressing a news conference, Sheikh Rasheed said he was standing with PTI chairman Imran Khan like a rock. “I will participate in the long march along with a sea of people from Lal Haveli,” he added.

Corrupt Government Telling Lies About Country’s Economy: Sheikh Rasheed

Sheikh Rasheed said that the country was on the verge of default. “The corrupt government is telling a lie to the people,” he added.

He said the economic condition is worst while political instability is very complex. “The incompetent government has been imposed on the country. An attempt was made on the lives of Arshad Sharif and Imran Khan,” he added.

Will Not Let Government Flee: Sheikh Rasheed

The AML chairman said that they would not let the government flee. “The army has made the good decision of remaining away from politics,” he maintained.

He said that the martyrdom of Arshad Sharif was part of a conspiracy. “It was a script of a big conspiracy that failed,” he opined.
