RIYADH: Brazilian football star Neymar has to wait for a month to debut for the Saudi al-Hilal football club due to injury, coach Jorge Jesus said on Monday.
Western media quoted Jesus as saying that Neymar is a creative and innovative player, but he has a slight injury which could take a month to recover.
He said that 31-year-old star might be available for al-Hilal in mid-September.
Al-Hilal coach asked why the footballer was included in the Brazil squad for World Cup qualifiers next month as he is not ready to play.
Neymar injury delays al-Hilal debut
Neymar arrived in Saudi Arabia on Tuesday ahead of the unveiling ceremony as al-Hilal Player.
The player due to his ankle injury has not played for Brazil since last year’s World Cup.
He has recently joined al-Hilal club after quitting Paris Saint-Germain football club. The Saudi club agreed to a 90 million euros transfer fee with Paris Saint-Germain (PSG).

Neymar has signed a two-year agreement with the Saudi club with an annual salary of around 100 million US dollars.
Neymar who plays as a forward has scored 118 goals in 173 matches for Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) in six seasons. He won three French Cups and five Ligue 1 titles.
