NHA Chairman Inspects Mahandri Bridge Restoration Efforts

ISLAMABAD:  Chairman of the National Highway Authority (NHA), Shahryar Sultan, visited the Mahandri area on the N15 route to assess the damage and restoration efforts for the Mahandri Bridge, which was washed away due to monsoon floods on July 30.

During his visit, Sultan was briefed by NHA officials on the extent of the bridge’s damage and the measures planned for its restoration. The briefing included details on the temporary and permanent solutions for traffic and tourist movement.

The restoration plan involves two phases: initially, temporary measures will be implemented to provide an alternative route for traffic. Subsequently, a compact 200 steel bridge will be constructed to replace the damaged floating bridge.

Sultan expressed satisfaction with the current restoration efforts and the machinery on site. He directed that steps be taken to expedite the construction of a new bridge. The Chairman also praised the NHA officers and staff for their performance and dedication in managing the situation.

This visit underscores the NHA’s commitment to maintaining infrastructure and ensuring safe and efficient travel routes for all.
