ISLAMABAD: Khalid Mahmood, the National Highway and Motorway Police’s (NHMP) Inspector General have instructed for an additional police force to deal with the weekend’s increased traffic volume.
The IG stated that to handle the heavy traffic and ensure travelers’ safety, the additional police force will be stationed at all critical locations along the national highways and motorways.
He said, “The move aims to prevent congestion or delays and to provide a hassle-free experience for drivers.”
Instructions to NHMP
The Inspector General has stressed the significance of road safety and has instructed police officers to be alert and proactive during their job hours. He also gave the military orders to take all required actions to offer emergency assistance right away.
The travelers appreciated the police’s efforts to safeguard their safety. Many of them expressed their gratitude on social media, saying that the increased police presence had given them a sense of security on the highways.
