LOUISVILLE: Top-ranked Scottie Scheffler has been golf’s hottest sensation over the last 60-day, but he is likely to confront new challenges that will test him in unparalleled ways.
He won his second Masters crown in three seasons in April at Augusta National, has been off for around three weeks as he and his wife await the birth of their first kid, local media reported.
He expressed hope that he will be a good father. He said that they are very excited for their upcoming children. He has until Tuesday to decide whether or not he will play at next week’s PGA Championship at Valhalla in Louisville.
He became the first player since 1985 to claim the Masters and at the Heritage the following week. However, responding to a question, he said that his priorities will change very soon as his child will now be the main priority, so the sport will now be maybe fourth in line. He further said that despite all things, he loves the golf as well.
