ISLAMABAD: President Dr Arif Alvi has said that achieving progress and prosperity is related to the true representation and participation of the public for any country, as no country could wish to make progress without the participation of its people.
Addressing an awards distribution ceremony of the annual Invitational Golf Tournament held at Margalla Greens Golf Club on Saturday, the President said that being the fifth most populous country in the world, Pakistan possesses the huge potential to excel in every field of life.
Alvi said that the public of a country acts as a vital driving force for making contributions to the overall progress and development.
“Over 250 million people of Pakistan, with their combined efforts, could make a difference and could transform and rebuild the country by utilizing their intellect and potential,” he remarked.
President Alvi Seeks Reforms in Health, Education
The President mentioned the progress of the developed countries and said that Pakistan should also learn from the experiences of these countries on how to face diverse challenges. He also stressed the benefits of education that could take any country to the helm of success.
He, however, lamented that about 26 million children were out of school while thousands of others faced numerous issues of malnutrition and stunting in the health sector.
Earlier, the President also congratulated and appreciated the organizers for having a healthy event. The event was hosted by Serena Hotels in collaboration with the Margalla Greens Golf Club. Later, the President, gave away prizes to the winners and runners-up across all four categories.
Golfers from a diverse range of categories, including diplomatic, government, and armed forces officials, corporations, and women, participated in the event.
With about 110 golfers in attendance, including a notable contingent of women players, the competition presented an inspiring display of skill and technique across the course.
