ISLAMABAD: China said on Friday that it is making efforts to verify the reports of the surveillance balloon after the US claimed that it is tracking a suspected Chinese surveillance balloon.

China’s Foreign Ministry Spokesperson, Mao Ning said that until the facts are clear, making estimations and hyping up the matter will not help to resolve it properly.
She said that China is a very responsible nation and always abides by international law. The spokesperson said that they (China) have no intention of violating the airspace of any sovereign country.
Earlier, the US claimed that it is tracking a suspected Chinese surveillance balloon. Defense officials said they were confident the ” surveillance balloon” belonged to China.
However, Pentagon declined to reveal the aircraft’s current location and did not give details on where it was launched from. The Pentagon claimed that such surveillance balloons had been tracked in the past several time.
