ISLAMABAD: Pakistan’s Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has emphatically said that nobody will be permitted to sabotage the economic gains achieved by the nation over the past seven months due to strenuous efforts of the government.
Chairing the federal cabinet meeting in Islamabad on Tuesday, he said in categorical terms that the repeat of 2014-15 conspiracy will not be permitted under any conditions. He pointed out that the economic indicators are improving and the entire world is acknowledging the fact.
IMF Program
He stated that the IMF program has also been secured with the support of friendly nations China and UAE while inflation has come down to 6.9 percent from thirty-two percent. He also mentioned that exports and remittances are also witnessing an increase and the stock market is sky rocketing. The Prime Minister said that the digitization of FBR is being carried out in order to broaden the tax base.
He expressed regret that this is not acceptable to a particular political party which does not want Pakistan moving forward on the path of progress and improvement in the living standards of the people.
SCO Summit
The PM said that Pakistan is hosting SCO heads of government meeting and comprehensive arrangements have also been made for it. He added that the Chinese Premier is also coming to Pakistan on a bilateral trip.
Karachi Attack
Strongly regretting Karachi attack which claimed the lives of two Chinese citizens, Shehbaz Sharif said Pakistan shares the grief and sorrow of the people of China. He further said that no stone will be left unturned to ensure unbreachable security for the Chinese citizens in Pakistan. Earlier, the cabinet also offered fateha for the security personnel martyred in recent acts of terrorism.
